American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, offer nonstop service between Miami Airport (MIA) and Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) in Gainesville, Fla., beginning Oct. 1.2010 Eagle operate the service with 64-seat Super ATR aircraft.
"It's a great pleasure to welcome American Eagle to Gainesville," said U.S. Representative Corrine Brown (D-Fla). "The market in this area is growing at a very fast pace, and the accessibility this new service will provide to the rest of the country, as well as to Latin America and the Caribbean, will undoubtedly serve as a vehicle of great progress and an economic boost for Alachua County."
Home to the University of Florida, one of the largest universities in the nation, Gainesville is also a thriving technology and medical center and routinely appears among the top-ranked cities in which to live and work.
