AirTran will return its low fares non-stop flight to Tampa International Airport (TPA) from Asheville,NC, and will offer the flight four days each week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:20 p.m. and Sundays at 2:37 p.m. The Tampa flight, previously a seasonal service, is now scheduled as a year-round service, and joins Orlando as the second non-stop destination provided by AirTran.
AirTran also is increasing service between Milwaukee and Tampa from one to two daily flights beginning May 3. AirTran competes with Southwest Airlines, which has one daily flight between Tampa and Milwaukee.
AirTran is the only major airline with Wi-Fi on every flight and offers coast-to-coast service on North America's newest all-Boeing fleet. Its low-cost, high-quality product also includes assigned seating, Business Class and complimentary XM Satellite Radio on every flight. To book a flight, visit http://www.airtran.com/.
Southwest Airlines' $1.4 billion purchase of AirTran announced in September is expected to close later this year.
