Day 1 Beijing / Shanghai - Xi'an City Wall, Forest of Steles, Bell Tower Upon arrival, your tour guide will meet you at the airport..
After lunch, climb the Ming Dynasty City Wall and explore the former Confucius Temple. Today, it is the home of the Forest of Steles, a collection of Confucian texts and calligraphies engraved in stone tablets.

Overnight in Xi'an Day 2 Xi'an (B L) Terracotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda In the morning, enjoy Xi'an's highlight, the army of Terracotta Warriors and the Bronze Chariots. They were built for China's first emperor in the 3rd century B.C. and are still remarkably well-preserved.
Visit the wonderful Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of China's oldest buildings.
Overnight in Xi'an Day 3 Xi'an-Chongqing (B L) Shaanxi History Museum, Great Mosque View an impressive and rich collection of relics from ancient China after breakfast. Xi'an's museum (closed on Mondays) is rated to be one of the best in China.
After lunch, stroll in Xi'an's Muslim quarter, where you can visit the unique mosque.
Evening flight to Chongqing.
Overnight on board Day 4 Yangtze Cruise (Downstream) (B L D) After breakfast the ship will leave Chongqing. Enjoy the scenic countryside of Southwestern China as you drift by the slowly vanishing city of Xi'an.
Join a meeting with the cruise director who will impart interesting information about the Yangtze River.
After lunch, the MS Fortune will arrive at the so-called "Ghost City" Fengdu, where you will have your first shore excursion to the temples on the Minghsan Mountain.
Captain's Welcome Dinner in the evening, followed by an entertaining dance and music performance by the crew.
Overnight on board Day 5 Yangtze Cruise (Downstream) (B L D) Today will be very exciting! You pass the first of the Three Gorges, the narrow "Qutang Gorge" in the morning after breakfast.
It is followed by the mystic "Wu Gorge", with its famous mountains and green slopes.
After lunch you disembark for an excursion to the Shennong Stream. This small tributary of the Yangtze River is the main transportation link for the farmers living in the area. Even today they use small wooden boats that are pulled upstream.
Return to the MS Fortune in the afternoon. The ship enters the last of the gorges, "Xiling Gorge".
Dinner in the evening.
Overnight on board Day 6 Yangtze (Downstream) - Yichang - Beijing / Shanghai (B) After breakfast, start your last shore excursion and visit the massive Three Gorges Dam. It is the largest hydro-power plant in the world.
After returning to the ship, you pass the shiplocks of the gigantic dam and enter the eastern section of the "Xiling Gorge".
Arrive in Yichang and disembark around noon.
