Cork to Milan Bergamo Ryanair service

Ryanair plans to operate a new Cork to Milan Bergamo service beginning on June 2nd, 2011.

The twice weekly service will operate on Thursdays and Sundays and has been launched with fares from €37.99 one way, inclusive of taxes. From midnight tonight passengers can book these €9.99 seats for travel on over 500 European routes in February. These seats can only be booked until midnight on Monday 10th January and are sure to be snapped up fast so we urge passengers to book them on www.ryanair.com before they sell out. Seats on the new route to Milan Bergamo start from €37.99.”

“Milan was identified as a key city region unserved from Cork and we are delighted to bring to fruition months of commercial effort to secure an international Airline to operate this new service from June next.

“2011 will bring plenty of challenges but we have started the year positively with a number of new route announcements. Despite 2010 being the toughest year on record for the aviation industry internationally, Cork Airport is looking forward to the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Airport in 1961, with the commencement of new Ryanair services to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife in addition to Milan Bergamo plus the addition of a new Aer Lingus service to Palma Majorca this summer.

“In addition, we also have the new incentive scheme launched by the DAA in December for all three state airports at Cork, Dublin and Shannon, which will see passenger charges waived once an overall threshold for the three airports of 23.5 million passengers is reached.
Ryanair uses Bergamo Airport as a gateway to nearby Milan, but Bergamo represents a beautiful destination in itself, introducing visitors to the northern Italian region of Lombardy. The town of Bergamo is north-east of Milan, close to Lake Como and the foothills of the Alps.
